Texas Sweet Tea Cheddars Recipe

Equipment
- Large pot
- Fine-Mesh Sieve
- Large pitcher
Ingredients
- 6 tea bags
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 8 cups water
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves (optional)
Instructions
- Bring 8 cups of water to a boil in a large pot. Remove from heat and add 6 tea bags. Let it steep for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags and add 1 cup of sugar to the pot. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese to the pot and stir until the cheese melts.
- Add 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice to the pot and stir until well combined.
- Let the mixture cool down to room temperature.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher.
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Serve over ice cubes and garnish with fresh mint leaves (optional).
