Easy Sugar Loaf Chicory Recipe
A simple and flavorful Italian-inspired dish featuring sugar loaf chicory, garlic, and olive oil.
Equipment
- Large skillet
- Cutting board
- Knife
Ingredients
- 2 heads of sugar loaf chicory
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- ¼ tsp of salt
- ¼ tsp of black pepper
- ¼ tsp of red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the sugar loaf chicory and cut off the base.
- Cut the chicory into quarters, lengthwise.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the sugar loaf chicory to the skillet and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Sauté the chicory for 8-10 minutes or until it's tender and lightly browned.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
