Homemade Maddox Rolls
Soft and fluffy homemade rolls with a golden, buttery crust
Equipment
- large bowl
- Baking sheet
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Kitchen scale
- pastry brush
Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup milk, warmed
- ¼ cup honey
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, yeast, warm milk, and honey.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise for about an hour or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a ball and place it on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover with a clean towel and let them rise for another 15-20 minutes.
- Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
