Homemade Lemon Mead
A refreshing and healthy alternative to traditional alcoholic beverages, homemade lemon mead is easy to make and perfect for summer gatherings.
Equipment
- Large pot
- Glass jar with a lid
- Cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer
Ingredients
- 4-6 fresh lemons
- 1 cup honey
- 4 cups water
Instructions
- Cut the lemons in half and squeeze out the juice, removing any seeds.
- In a large pot, heat the water over medium heat and slowly stir in the honey until it is fully dissolved.
- Add the lemon juice to the pot and stir well.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
- Transfer the mixture to a glass jar with a lid and let it ferment for 2-3 days.
- After 2-3 days, strain the mixture through a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer to remove any pulp or sediment.
- Transfer the liquid to a clean glass jar with a lid and store it in the fridge until ready to serve.
