Equipment
- Grill or non-stick pan
Ingredients
- 1 pound of 80% lean ground beef
- 1 tsp of garlic powder
- 1 tsp of onion powder
- 1 tsp of smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce and tomato for toppings
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper together until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into four equal parts and shape each part into a ball.
- Using your hands, gently flatten each ball into a patty that is about 3/4 inch thick. Make sure not to overwork the meat.
- Heat up your grill or a non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
- Place the patties on the grill or pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are browned and cooked through. You can cook them for longer or shorter depending on how well done you like your burgers.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in the oven.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patties on the bottom buns and topping them with lettuce and tomato.
- Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes
Recipe Notes:
- For added flavor, mix in some Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce into the beef mixture.
- Don’t overwork the meat when forming the patties, or you risk ending up with a tough burger.
- Make sure to preheat your grill or pan before cooking the patties.
- Let the cooked burgers rest for a few minutes before assembling them to allow the juices to redistribute.
- Use high-quality beef that is at least 80% lean for the juiciest results.
- To add an extra layer of flavor and texture to your burger, add a slice of cheese on top of the patty while it’s still on the grill.
