Chocolate Icing Recipe For Brownies
Rich, creamy chocolate icing that is perfect for topping your favorite brownies.
Equipment
- medium saucepan
- Whisk
- Heat-proof bowl
- Spoon or spatula
Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ⅓ cup whole milk
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Once the butter is melted, add the cocoa powder and whisk until smooth.
- Add the whole milk and whisk until combined.
- Increase the heat to medium and bring the mixture to a boil, whisking constantly.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and transfer the mixture to a heat-proof bowl.
- Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract and whisk until smooth and creamy.
- Allow the icing to cool slightly before spreading it over your brownies.

Recipe Notes:
- For thicker icing, add more powdered sugar until you reach your desired consistency.
- If the icing becomes too thick, add a small amount of milk to thin it out.
- This recipe can be easily doubled to make more icing if needed.
