Chicken Sinatra
This classic Chicken Sinatra recipe is the perfect blend of Italian flavors, with juicy and tender chicken breasts topped with a savory tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil.
Equipment
- Large skillet
- Baking dish
Ingredients
- 4 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, basil, oregano, salt and pepper.
- Dredge the chicken breasts in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and transfer to a baking dish.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
- Pour in the diced tomatoes and stir to combine.
- Pour the tomato sauce over the chicken breasts in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top of the chicken and tomato sauce.
- Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

- You can also use fresh basil in place of dried basil in the flour mixture for added flavor.
