Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes, until softened.
  • Add the green beans to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes, until they start to soften.
  • Add the salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, and continue to sauté for another 5-7 minutes, until the beans are tender.
  • Stir in the bacon and serve hot.

Recipe Notes: For best results, it’s recommended to blanch the green beans in boiling water for 3-4 minutes before sautéing them in the skillet.
